Dr. Michael Newmann-Godful

Meet Dr. Michael Newmann-Godful, affectionately known as Dr. G! As the inspiring founder and president of the Margaret E. Gemstone STEM Academy in Ghana. He is on a mission to nurture young minds into creative thinkers and future leaders in the exciting fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Dr. G's remarkable educational journey began in the vibrant town of Obuasi, Ghana, where he attended Obuasi Methodist School and graduated from Kumasi High School. With a passion for teaching, he started his career as a Mathematics and General Science educator after earning his Bachelor of Education from the University of Cape Coast. His quest for knowledge took him to the United States, where he earned both a Master’s degree in Finance and a Doctorate in Management, specializing in Information Systems and Technology.

Dr. G's wealth of experience includes teaching at different institutions such as Western Governors University and Grand Canyon University, as well as a fascinating stint at Jiangnan University in China. Currently, he is dedicated to empowering students with essential digital skills in Washington State through the Career and Technical Education program.

At the Margaret E. Gemstone STEM Academy, Dr. G is passionate about transforming education, ensuring that students are equipped to address global challenges and improve their communities. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is a devoted husband and proud father of three sons, exemplifying the perfect blend of education, service, and family values.
